She’s green kicks off spring tour supporting Slow Crush

SAN DIEGO — Minneapolis band she’s green began a West Coast tour supporting Slow Crush, March 13.

Their August 2025 EP, “chrysalis,” capped off a two-year release gap, during which the band toured steadily, building momentum that culminated in a deal with Photo Finish Records. In February, she’s green released their latest single, “mettle,” before taking on a busy tour schedule to start the year.

It was the group’s first time playing in San Diego, as bandleader Zofia Smith noted between songs. Friday night’s lineup, which also included Montreal band Spite House, played to an audience of nearly 500 at SOMA, one of the city’s longest running indie venues.

She’s green played songs from across the band’s catalog, and “mettle” was the standout piece. The new track is a textured mix of jagged-edged riffs and atmospheric vocal melodies, all packed into a crushable, sub-three-minute runtime.

“‘Mettle’ channels the frustration and discomfort that stem from what often feels like constant bad news, while also being an anthem of resilience and the courage to take action and bring about positive change,” said Smith in a statement announcing the single.

The live performance of the song far outshined its studio recording. Smith’s voice echoed over a wall of instrumentals, and the band’s stage presence reflected the type of cohesion that can only be achieved by two years of near-constant touring.

But she’s green’s packed year has only just begun. Their tour with Slow Crush will wrap at the end of March, followed immediately by more dates supporting Bad Suns in April. In May, she’s green will open for Chapterhouse in the Northeast, bookended by appearances at the Slide Away Music Festival in New York City and Chicago.
